July 20th, 2006

We finally got some much needed validation this week. Our film will be shown in the Rhode Island International Film Festival. It’s coming up next month.

This will be our first festival! It makes me feel even better that it’s screening to a mixed crowd. I don’t think our story is just for gay people even though Stu keeps entering it in gay and lesbian festivals. Maybe this will give Stu and Joe (producers) the reason to go more mainstream with it (are you guys reading this?!)

Jack found out last week that he will indeed be able to have his cataract surgery next month. This is a very, very big deal. Imagine slowly losing your eyesight for the past two years. Old age is not fun. One more reason to do it together!

July 2nd, 2006

The buzz about the doc seems to be growing steadily. I guess it is a “day at a time” type of thing. The Larchmont Chronicle (a neighborhood newspaper here in West Los Angeles) published a very nice article about our film in their July issue. It included the website address and we were all surprised at the hits we got in the first week after.

We also entered 4 G&L film festivals this week (Seattle, Austin, Tampa and Chicago). I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we are interesting to young people. I frankly don’t quite know who our audience is yet.
