"BOYS BEWARE" to be on DVD

The 1961 institutional film "Boys Beware" is going to be included as an extra on the DVD to be released in mid-August. At first I was put off but now I'm delighted. It's a good look at how screwed up attitudes were when we were just trying to live our gay lives in the fifties and sixties. The film was made to be shown to high school boys in Physical Education and health classes about the perils of "homosexuality".

As funny as it is today to watch, it's also quite sad. It makes me remember how really criminal we were supposed to be back then. Those attitudes really had a psychological effect on many of us. And they wonder why so many of us older gays and lesbians just stay in the closet. Watch Boys Beware and you'll get it.
